Programme Officer (Civil Society)
Guy joined the Foundation from BRAC UK where he was the Programme Officer Development Awareness. Prior to this he worked for CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation based in Johannesburg, South Africa as the Participatory Governance Project Officer. Guy has experience in programme planning/design, implementation and monitoring. He also has experience in designing, facilitating and delivering trainings on a variety of subjects.
In his most recent role Guy worked on a youth project which aimed to use the MDGs and international development as a mechanism to get inner city youth involved in positive activities in their local community and globally. With CIVICUS he worked on the development of an online portal for participatory governance practitioners to generate and share knowledge and best practices. His interests lie in the sphere of civil society empowerment, with a specific focus on bridging the gap between CSOs, government and the private sector.
Guy has a Masters in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and a BA from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Guy is well travelled having spent most his life in South Asia and Southern Africa.
