Head of External Affairs
Marcie joined the Commonwealth Foundation in 2005 as Communications Officer. Brought in to set up the Communications department, Marcie developed and implemented an effective communications strategy to help define the Foundation and also to place it more prominently on the international development agenda. Since then Marcie has taken on the role of Head of External Affairs responsible for all the external facing work including partnerships, civil society input into ministerial meetings, management of the Commonwealth People’s Forum, Friends of the Commonwealth, networks and all the exciting explorations into new online technologies. Marcie sees the role of Head of External Affairs as an opportunity to continue to help the Commonwealth to add value to civil society and to raise awareness of the affecting issues. Her goal is to get more voices heard by governments in a constructive and effective way.
In her spare time she raises money for charity through sporting events, such as long distance bike rides and triathlons.
