Commonwealth Associations

Nearly 100 thriving non-governmental organisations are affiliated in some way to the Commonwealth, ranging from the Commonwealth Forestry Association to the Commonwealth Pharmacists Association.

Staffed by professionals, practitioners and activists, these mostly voluntary organisations contribute valuable expertise, passion and dialogue to Commonwealth affairs.

A 2002 High-Level Review of the Commonwealth established special accreditation criteria for these organisations. Only accredited associations are eligible for annual grants from the Commonwealth Foundation.

Accredited associations must be committed to the Commonwealth’s fundamental values, respect diversity, be transparent in their activities and be open to all Commonwealth members.
