Internships

Our internship programme provides students or recent graduates with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and strengthen knowledge and skills in a way which complements their studies.

We offer internships across all of our programme areas and interns are able to become fully involved in the delivery of programme objectives. Details of internship opportunities, along with the relevant application process, are advertised on our website as and when they arise.

Internships generally run for two to 12 months and include a weekly stipend. However interns are not considered employees of the Commonwealth Foundation.

In order to apply for an internship, applicants must have the right to reside in the UK for the full duration of the internship. They must also be enrolled in a university or equivalent tertiary institution or have graduated in the previous 12 months.

Students enrolled on first degree programmes should have completed two years of full time study. Students pursuing post-graduate studies should be in the process of completing their degrees and wish to gain experience in the field in which they are enrolled.

Internship opportunities are listed under our current vacancies.

Enquiries

If you have a recruitment enquiry please contact the Contracts & HR Officer using the contact form or by post to the address at the foot of this page.

We very much value the interest that people show in working for us and always aim to respond to any enquiries about volunteer, internship or employment opportunities.

However, due to the numbers received, this is not always possible. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank anyone who contacts us in this way.
