Civil society accountability

The Commonwealth Foundation is hosting a series of online discussions about civil society accountability.

Accountability is becoming an increasingly important discussion topic for civil society. As the need for transparency and openness grows, so does the requirement for enhanced skills in monitoring, reporting and evaluation.

Members of civil society, public servants and government Ministers, from the Commonwealth and beyond, are invited to join in the debate. By bringing people together in this virtual community, we aim to raise awareness of the challenges faced by civil society and find innovative ways to address them.

This is an opportunity to ask questions of experienced members of the civil society community, policy-makers and legislators, on key issues around civil society accountability, effectiveness and legitimacy.

Each discussion will be chaired by an eminent practitioner who will introduce a topic and then respond to your comments and questions as well as inviting feedback from the audience. Sessions will comprise three weeks of Q&A followed by a week to reflect on the discussion and find a way forward.
