The Commonwealth Lawyers Association is an international professional association of lawyers from throughout the Commonwealth. It exists to maintain and promote the rule of law within the Commonwealth by ensuring that the people of the Commonwealth are served by an independent and efficient legal profession.
The CLA's objectives are to maintain and promote the rule of law in the Commonwealth by: strengthening the professional links among members of the legal profession; Maintaining the honour and dignity of the profession and promote uniformity in standards of professional ethics; supporting improved standards of legal education; promoting exchanges of lawyers and students; and ensuing that a common bond of commonwealth is preserved and fostered.
