Governance Structure
The Commonwealth Foundation is funded principally through annual contributions made by member governments.
A Board of Governors comprising, in the main, UK-based representatives of member governments and five representatives of civil society, determines our policies.
The Board of Governors meets once a year, and its sub committees, the Executive Committee and the Grants Committee, meet twice a year.
The Foundation has a Civil Society Advisory Committee, which provides guidance on and input to the our work programme, and steers civil society activities at the time of the Commonwealth People's Forum held in relation to the biennial Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings (CHOGMs). Members are drawn from all regions of the Commonwealth and represent the constituent parts of civil society. Another advisory committee guides the Commonwealth Writers' Prize.
