The Commonwealth Writers' Prize is a leading global award for fiction, covering the Commonwealth regions of Europe and South Asia, Caribbean and Canada, South East Asia and the Pacific, and Africa. In 2006, the Prize's first regional supporter, the Macquarie Foundation, committed to fund the competition in the South East Asia and Pacific and the Europe and South Asia regions in 2007.The Commonwealth Writers' Prize is organised and funded by the Commonwealth Foundation with the support of the Macquarie Group Foundation across all four regions.
