Legacies

"I spent 11 very memorable years working in hospitals in the Pacific in the 60's and 70's"
We did great work and I'm proud of the achievements we made to the health of people there. I would like to think the opportunities and assistance I received that enabled me to work and live abroad will also be available to others in the years to come.”

'A. Nurse'

Because Friends is new, we don't have a real name to put to this 'quote' above. But we believe there are many people out there who will feel a strong connection with the Commonwealth, for many reasons. And some people will feel sufficiently connected to want to make a lasting contribution, enabling others to follow behind them building on what has already been achieved.

There are many reasons to consider leaving a legacy to the Friends of the Commonwealth.  Perhaps like the 'nurse' above, you enjoyed working in another country and hold a special place for the friends you made there. Or perhaps your career was launched with the help of an educational grant or scholarship from a Commonwealth organisation and you would like others to benefit in the same way in future. Or maybe you too believe what the Foundation and its partners are doing will change the lives of many and bring a better quality of life to those who so desperately need it. What ever your reasons, leaving a legacy to the Friends of the Commonwealth will ensure more can be done to create a fairer and more equitable world.

Making a Will is the first step in ensuring your wishes are carried out after you have gone. Your Will helps to ensure that your intentions are honoured . It can help protect the people closest to you, and to further the causes about which you feel most deeply.
Making a Will is not just something 'other' people to do. People from all walks of life make Wills.

If you would like to remember the Friends of the Commonwealth in your Will please contact us for more information. All enquiries will be treated strictly confidentially.
