Money Matters
The US dollar is traditionally the preferred hard currency, however the Euro and Pound Stirling are widely accepted. Travellers' cheques and cash can be exchanged for local currency at banks and foreign exchange bureaus. Local currency can be drawn against major credit cards at selected ATMs.
Visitor Information
A visitor information office is located at Impala House, 13/15 Kimathi Avenue in Kampala.
Kampala's local attractions include the Kasubi tombs, the Uganda Museum, buildings of the Buganda Kingdom and Owino Market.
Attractions further out of Kampala include Kabaka's Trail, incorporating six historic sites and Lake Victoria.
