The Commonwealth Theme unifies celebrations taking place on Commonwealth Day (Monday 11 March 2013), and provides a focus for further Commonwealth activities during Commonwealth Week and the coming year.
The Commonwealth Theme for 2013 is ‘Opportunity through Enterprise’. As we emerge from the global financial crisis, it is timely to examine how initiatives such as social entrepreneurship, sustainable enterprise and innovation can have a positive impact on economic development in the Commonwealth. The Theme will explore specific methods and practices in the context of opportunities available to key groups including women, young people and people with disabilities.
We award participatory governance grants in support of the Commonwealth Theme. Applications for these grants can only be submitted between 4 February – 31 March 2013.
